Tim Duffy (Drums)

Tim Duffy is a classically trained drummer who has been well rounded by his experiences. He started taking private drum lessons at the age of eight and his love of drumming has carried him throughout the years.  Formally trained to read, write and transcribe drum music his diverse study includes Metal, Rock, Hip-hop, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Latin, and a little bit of Southern Indian rhythms. He’s been a member of the Live Oak Emerald Regime Drum Line, performed with the South Valley Symphony and Morgan Hill Wind Symphony and has several musical theater credits on his resume ranging from South Pacific to Footloose.

In recent years Tim has founded or been part of several notable bands including stints in Forged, Corona’s Blue’s Band and a U.S. Tour with After The Crash.  Away from Steel Horse Tim’s current projects include a Jazz trio (The Poppy Gasper Trio) and the melodic metal band Dimidium that continues to record and tour.

Beyond recording and performing Tim is a drum instructor, teaching and instructing students of all levels from beginner to advance since 2004. He remains current in all aspects of drumming technique and trends and he enjoys sharing his love for percussion and drumming with others.
From a young age this Tim has almost always had a pair of drum sticks in his hands. He has learned many things from working with something as simple as a drum set and that helps carry him through life. Like anything else drumming has had its ups and downs, its joys and its pain. But this will never keep Tim from doing what he loves best, sitting in front of his set and simply playing for all to enjoy.
